I don't have bad acne (thank the lord) but I do occassionally have it. Anyways, I heard that putting toothpaste on a zit works. I wanted to know if it does, how well it works, and how exactly am I supposed to apply it and for how long (if it does.) Alsooo does it work on blackheads? And what are good scrubs/home remedies that work?Zits and blackheads help ?
toothpaste dries up the pimple...so if you have a pimple that's red and kindda swelling and you're hesitate to pop it, apply it a small amount over the pimple after washing your face and leave it on over night...sometimes, if you get lucky, the pimple will be dry and flat by the morning..if not, then it might take another day. salt and a few drops of water also works to dries up red and swollen pimples...it stings a bit (kindda like clearasil) but it works...the pimple will be dead by the morning.
oatmeal with a little bit of warm milk mix together works well as a face scrub...oatmeal has this vitamin ingredient that could benefit your skin and the milk works as a moisturizer.
you can use this for your blackheads. For me, i just squeeze my blackheads out LOL. or the St.Ives blackhead scrubs you can purchase at walmart/rite aid also works to maintain it.Zits and blackheads help ?
It works by drying out the pimple, but it's really more of an oh god I have a pimple and absolutely nothing else on hand emergency thing. I wouldn't plan on using it as pimple creams with salycilic acid work much better. I like Neutrogena rapid clear for spot treatment like that, if I see I am getting a pimple and catch it early it will prevent it and kill it quite fast. As for blackheads toothpaste won't work at all because they don't need to be dried out, they are pores clogged with dead skin cells and oil that has oxidized from air contact. Using a good chemical exfolialter with glycolic acid like Neutrogenas pore refining line is the best thing I've found ( I've tried ALOT). It breaks the bonds that hold the dead skin cells together and used as a mask really softens everything for extraction and keeps the pores clear. After that put a tiny amount of salycilic acid cream/gel on the areas you are prone to blackheads and that will keep them from forming again by killing the bacteria that causes them. Physical exfoliants like ST Ives (anything with big scrubby things in it is a physical one) work, but they damage your skin over time and will leave you with big pores.
Toothpaste never worked for me, ';clean and clear continuous control acne cleanser'; is amazing. I have tried other clean and clear products but they don't work, try that one specifically. The directions say to put it on for 30 seconds and wash it off, but I just put it on for the night like face cream. It doesn't dry my face but it might dry some peoples. I had a slight acne problem too, but now my face is perfectly clear.
Some people like proactive because it is advertised by Jessica Simpson but it has a lot of different things you need to put on your face and it is a hassle. The active ingredient in it is 10% Benzoyl Peroxide which is exactly what is in ';clean and clear continous control acne cleanser.'; If the clean and clear doesn't work find something that has a higher concentration of Benzoyl Peroxide, don't use procative.
Dermatologists can prescribe acne medication that has a realllllly high concentration of Benzoyl Peroxide, but that might be unnecessary for you.
They can also prescribe you pills and you can buy pills that are not that strong, but the pills are really bad for you and it is a lot better to use cream.
Diet: Drink lots of water and I heard that you shouldn't eat a lot of chocolate (it might be a myth).
oh you poor honey! just like me,
well the toothpaste method does work to an extent.
It works because it dries out the zit.
I would put it on the actual zit and go to bed with it on, mind you make sure you're sleeping on an old pillow case.
i'm not sure what country you're from and if this product is available but in Australia we have ';Clean %26amp; Clear- blackhead clearing scrub'; visible results within 2 days or being on the pill can sometimes be a miracle worker. I don't think that the toothpaste helps blackheads.
I've never tried toothpaste, but I have had great success with sunlight and lots of scrubbing. I know that dermatologists say that both of these are to be avoided, but the trick is moderation: don't get sunburned and don't scrub too hard. If that doesn't work enough, you might also see what prescription treatments your doctor recommends.
The toothpaste wont work on blackheads only zits....it drys them out, simply dab sum on your finger and put it on the zit, and leave it on there for 30-45 mins.
Not sure of any home remedies for blackheads best bed is buyin something instore, blackheads are tricky and require deep cleansing, using crystals or some sort usually in the formula.
It does work only on big red pimples , not blackheads or small bumps. It works for me to remove the bump in about 2 days. Be careful not to get it on the skin around it tho because it will dry out the skin. You are supposed to take a dab of white toothpaste (not the gel type) and put it on the pimple overnight before you go to sleep. A good home remedy that works is washing your face with plain non sugar yogurt, it really helps acne. hope this helps! = ) -tara %26lt;33
no one can actually tell you what works on your skin.
only you know.
because all the scrubs work differently.
depending on where ur face gets oily will depend on what you use. i breakout on my forehead and chin and ive discovered Nivea vissage works for me:)
as for the toothpaste? i have no idea... try it and see if it works?
but all you have to rememer if u wanna get rid of zits is wash your face with hot water and then put thr scrub on then rinse it with cold water
that should clear your face....
(hot water opens pores and cold water closes them)
Wash your face twice a day. Also use a facial scrub twice a week this will get rid of dead skin that cannot be easily removed by just daily washing.
You may also need to eat more fruit and vegetables.
Also if you drink a lot of milk then slow down milk can cause zits.
OXY face wash, and OXY wipes before you got sleep. guarantee in 2 days you'll have ZERO acne. Well at least for me it takes one day to clear, but that's depending on how much you have...
